TRIPS

Melnik (1 day) – The smallest Bulgarian town with lovely houses, perched on the slopes of sandstone rocks with one main street. Sample delicious Melnik wine and visit the nearby Rozhen Monastery with its magnificent woodcarvings.
Sofia (1 day or ½ day) - Sightseeing of the Bulgarian capital Sofia, one of Europe’s oldest cities with monuments from different civilizations. Also available Sofia Shopping tour, Sofia by Night with a visit to an opera performance.
Plovdiv (1 day) – A visit to Plovdiv – Bulgaria’s second biggest city, founded in 342 BCE by Philip of Macedon. Especially interesting are the Roman Theatre, the Stadium and the Old Town with fully preserved 19th century architecture.
Rila Monastery (1 day) – The biggest and the most beautiful Bulgarian monastery with original architecture and fantastic frescoes, in the heart of the Rila Mountains. The monastery museum presents a unique collection of precious old manuscripts, documents and a real treasure of icons, jewelry, masterpieces of woodcarving, an ethnographic exhibition of fabrics and carpets and a library containing over 16,000 volumes.
Samokov area tours: The Local History Museum Ethnographic section - folk art typical for the Samokov region; Renaissance section and Revolution movement section.
The Saraf’s house /Saraf – banker/ - the house was built in the 50s -60s of the 19th c. This type of houses used to shelter banks and offices. The woodcarvings on the ceilings and the decoration in the main hall are authentic.
Bairakli Mosque - Mosque Jokusha or as known today – Bairakli Mosque is one of the most ancient mosques in the town and the only one preserved until nowadays. After its restoration the mosque was turned into a museum and a monument of culture of national significance.
The Convent - the Convent of Samokov was founded in 1772 as a small hostel. In the middle of the 19th century it sheltered more than a hundred nuns. From the beginning the Convent became a center of spirituality and enlightenment. The Convent is a marvellous place in Samokov, which has preserved the mysterious atmosphere of spirituality, revolt and humbleness at the same time.
Church 'Beliova' - Small church, named 'Virgin Mary’s Nativity' - special place for the residents of the town of Samokov. The frescoes of the Church date from 1869.
Shishmanovo Kale - in 2004 the Shishmanovo Kale area provoked the interest of local archaeologists. Veselin Hadjiangelov and his team decided to follow the lead of the legends of this area.
