SKI INFORMATION All the lift in Borovets have a capacity of 15 400 skiers per hour with total length 14,5 km. There are three ski centre in Borovets ski resort: Central Borovets ski centre – starting from 1337 meters altitude up 1780 meters. Yastrebetz ski centre – from 1340 meters up to 2369 meters. Markudjik ski centre – from 2340 meters up to 2550 meters. The resort offers excellent conditions for winter sports: alpine skiing, cross – country and snowboarding. There are 42 km of marked ski runs for alpine skiing. Snow making facilities , as well as night skiing, on ski runs ‘Rila’, ‘Iglika’, ‘Martinovi Baraki 2 and 3’ (altogeter 2300 m)are also available. The ski runs are exellent for all kinds skiers. We have slopes for expert skiers and for beginners at altitudes from 1400 up to 2550 meters. The ski runs for cross – country are designed according to the requirements of FIS, at minimum width of 6m. In 1993 Borovets hosted the World Championship of Biathlon. Our advice for BEGINNER level skiers is to use the following lifts: ‘Sitnyakovo Express’, ‘Sitnyakovo’, ‘Rila’, ‘Iglika’, ‘Rotata’, ‘Markudjik 0’. For INTERMEDIATE skiers wi rekommend lifts: ‘Martinovi Baraki’, ‘Markudjik 1’, gondola lift ‘Yastrebetz’, while EXPERT skiers can enjoy: ‘Yastrebetz Express’, ‘Markudjik 2’ , ‘Markudjik 3’ and gondola ‘Yastrebetz’. |
